South East Garage Doors installs two matching, made-to-measure sectional garage doors as the finishing touches to an extension built in Eastbourne, East Sussex.
The challenge:
A customer had built an extension to his property that featured a large garage. He needed a garage door for this new part of his property but also wanted to purchase a second matching garage door for his existing garage. The existing garage contained the gas and electric meters, which would potentially cause an obstruction for a matching sectional garage door.
The solution:
South East Garage Doors worked closely with the customer to choose the garage doors he required and to order them to the exact measurements needed. The customer chose two Hörmann L-ribbed sectional doors in Titan Metallic.
Hörmann doors also have flexible and weather-resistant seals on all four sides to keep out the wind, rain and snow, and are accredited with Police-approved crime prevention and security standards known as Secured by Design.
However, one of the most sought-after benefits of a sectional door is the fact they open vertically upwards and are suspended under the ceiling to save space. A swell as this feature, the Hormann doors come with 42mm of insulation. This means the temperature in the garage can be as much as 4 degrees warmer over a standard garage door. This is a must if you have living space above the garage.
The customer also opted for a SupraMatic E garage door operator to swiftly open the garage door using a remote control. These include an automatic latching feature that engages into the boom stop on closure to protect the door from being levered open. He also had the Hormann external covered keypad. One four-digit code punched in opens one door, while another code will open the other garage door.
What the customer said:
Nigel Holland: “The whole installation went to plan; I could not have asked for better. I was delighted how Matt managed to get the measurements of the garage door just right. It went over the gas mater and under the ceiling joists with millimetres to spare!”
