A set of side-opening garage doors were clearly the solution when South East Garage Doors were invited to an old blacksmith’s forge in Lewes to see if we could help with an ancient rusted roller garage door.
They needed a door they could use every day that was easy to open and close. while still being able to maintain a big enough opening to get large objects through as and when required.
We came up with a plan to remove the roller shutter and create a timber frame opening with a set of side opening garage doors.

The new garage doors installed were from Garador and we used a set of their Carlton side-openers. You can view Garador’s full side-opening garage door range here.
We then clad the front in softwood tongue and groove. As the customer was on a budget, they decided they were going to paint the doors and the timberwork themselves in black.
