We love sectional garage doors, and they are probably our biggest seller. We tend to use Hörmann for these as, in our opinion, they make the best sectional doors.

They can make a huge difference to the security and warmth of your garage and any rooms above. This is because they are 42mm thick and foam filled and have flexible, weather-resistant seals on all four sides.

A sectional garage door is made up of separate interlinked panels rather than one. These panels rise vertically and are suspended under the ceiling. This means there is no loss of driveway space when they are opened, and they provide maximum headspace inside.

Sectional garage doors can be fitted in almost every garage door opening. They come in a range of designs, colours and materials, and are operated via a smartphone app or remote-control key fobs for effortless access, depending on the automation system you choose. More on this here.

They can even include a wicket door (a door within the door) for easy pedestrian access. Be warned they are expensive but are a brilliant bit of engineering and make the opening extremely versatile.

Things to bear in mind with a sectional door. The frame fits between or behind the opening where possible and it takes up 100mm of width. This can reduce an opening drive-through. The height of a sectional door is usually higher than an up-and-over and will open to the opening height, i.e. 7ft or 6ft 6ins. Sectional doors are easily modified by the factory for width and height at a minimal cost, so we can usually make them fit any opening.

It is also worth noting that the tracks go back around 2.6 metres depending on the opening height of the door. These need to be in line with the sides of the doors. If a gas meter or fuse board is close or in the way, then it may mean it cannot fit. We are very used to working round lots of obstacles, so do ask for a free survey to check.

Sectional garage doors are a fast growing market in Sussex and indeed throughout the South East. When it comes to shutting out the unpredictable British weather, keeping your house warm and improving security, a Hormann sectional door from South East Garage Doors, is the answer.

As the name implies, sectional doors are made-up from separate sections rather than a single panel. This allows for exceptionally smooth operation both manually and when electrically operated.

The sectional door mechanism has several distinct advantages over other mechanism types. Sectional doors ensure maximum drive-through width because the frame fits directly behind the door jamb and also allows for greater headroom clearance, vital for taller vehicles such as 4x4s and shorter driveways.

In recent years, sectional doors have become very popular thanks to their unique design and more affordable pricing.

Sectional garage doors offer a cost effective and versatile solution for your domestic security requirements:

More secure than other forms of traditional garage doors

Sectional doors are easy to open by hand or can be easily automated for convenience
Insulated sectional doors are the ultimate in thermal efficiency leading to significant energy savings
Available in a wide range of traditional and contemporary designs and colours, helping to enhance your home ís kerb appeal

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We are very pleased with all aspects of our garage door installation and delighted with the quality and appearance of the end result. Matt was extremely diligent in explaining the options available during our initial meeting and we found the pricing very competitive. The installation was carried out on time with our queries being dealt with courteously, the old door was taken away and the area left clean and tidy. It is rare these days to experience excellent service from start to finish and we thoroughly recommend Matt and his team if you are considering a new garage door.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Pleased with the service from booking an initial appointment, choices given, selection, date and then installation by a friendly crew. Although my garage was a standard single size their speed (2.5 hours) to remove old and install new was very efficient and I’m pleased with the product, the look and the finishing.
