Side hinged garage doors are the easiest to open of all the garage doors. Many houses have the traditional timber doors that were installed when the house was built. Today, we have moved away from joiner-made timber doors and manufacturers use steel chassis that carry the material of choice (steel, timber or GRP). This means we can be sure they will open and close without the seasonal swelling or rotting of timber.

These doors open exactly as the words say. They have a set of hinges on both side and they open outwards. Not particularly practical for putting a car in, but they offer easy access to a wheelie bin or garden tools, or even to a gym, workshop, office studio, etc.

As space in our homes has become a premium, many people have turned their garages into extra rooms. We do a range of side-hinged doors that are fully insulated and seal like a front door, so the space behind is very usable.

These doors come in different configurations. This can be left-hand leading or right-hand leading. They also come with door stays which means they can be locked in the open position to stop them moving around.

Over the years we have found that Garador make the best standard side opening door.

They have a large range to choose from. The majority of what we sell are steel doors. This is mainly down to the cost of the product. If you are after something with really durable finish then consider the GRP doors. If you want something that is absolutely stunning then consider the timber side opening doors.

Over the last 5 years or so we have found that many people are turning to their garages for space they have not used properly before. They are now using them for gyms, offices, utility rooms to name but a few. These spaces require insulation and seals to keep the cold and wet weather out. The solution for this is an insulated set of side opening doors. We use several manufacturers for these. Have a look at Ryterna or JDUK door systems.

Their doors can be ordered to suit with a 50 : 50 or 1/3 : 2/3 split configuration, as well as in different designs, colours, surface finishes and windows.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We are very pleased with all aspects of our garage door installation and delighted with the quality and appearance of the end result. Matt was extremely diligent in explaining the options available during our initial meeting and we found the pricing very competitive. The installation was carried out on time with our queries being dealt with courteously, the old door was taken away and the area left clean and tidy. It is rare these days to experience excellent service from start to finish and we thoroughly recommend Matt and his team if you are considering a new garage door.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Pleased with the service from booking an initial appointment, choices given, selection, date and then installation by a friendly crew. Although my garage was a standard single size their speed (2.5 hours) to remove old and install new was very efficient and I’m pleased with the product, the look and the finishing.
