The answer is ingenious yet simple. When it is a weather-proof security shutter.
South East Garage Doors came to the aid of a family living in Pevensey Bay in East Sussex when they were seeking a way to protect their home from the elements while keeping it secure while they were away.
Their home is right on the beach and is constantly exposed to wind, rain and sea water. The owners wanted to be able to cover their large windows at night while also giving them the option to secure them for longer periods of time while they were on holiday.
Having listened to their needs, South East Garage Doors designed a solution that involved fixing three roller garage doors to the sea-facing side of the house.
We used two 2.5-metre roller garage doors either side of a 5-metre roller garage door to create a full shutter effect. They were fixed on the external side of the wall and are all controlled with a remote control.
The effect, as the opening line of this blog suggests, is ingenious yet simple and has not only met the customer’s needs but has reaped added benefits. The house is now warmer due to the extra insulation the shutters offer at night and is also darker in the early morning sun, allowing the owners a few more hours sleep!
South East Garage Doors used white SWS SeceuroGlide Excel roller garage doors to create this shutter effect. These roller garage doors are the industry’s leading aluminum double-skinned roller doors and they are fully compliant with all the very latest safety and security regulations, including Secured by Design.
Mr Earl said: “South East Roller Garage Doors came up with an imaginative solution to our problem and simply made the problem go away. We are delighted with the pre-sales experience, the workmanship and the result. I would encourage any other families who have homes on the beach to consider this shutter solution and to get in touch with Matt and his colleagues.”
