Just need quick access to your garage?
I am sure these scenarios will all sound familiar:
- You need to start supper but the food you need is in the freezer
- You need to put a wash on or pop some clothes in the tumble dryer
- Your children want one or more of their outdoor toys
- You want to grab a spade to do some gardening
- You fancy an outing on your bike
Many of these items and appliances are kept in our garages, and it is a pain to have to open your garage door every time you want to use them. If you don’t have a side door for pedestrian access then you have to open the whole garage door just to get one thing out. How much easier would it be to just go in and out of a side door?
The ease of a side door
For this project, we were able to help a customer with exactly this problem. A big double door had to be opened every time she wanted to get her gardening tools out. Being a little bit older, this was becoming harder and harder and her favourite hobby was being threatened.
We were able to cut a new opening into the side wall of her garage. We then installed a concrete lintel to ensure the opening was structurally safe before installing a uPVC glazed pedestrian door. It had to be black on the outside to match the rest of the windows and doors of our customer’s home. We made the inside of the door white to make the interior of the garage a little lighter.
Our customer now has a much very easier way of getting in and out of her garage without the dread of having to open the big garage door!
