With continual storms battering the south coast this winter, many garage doors will end up looking like this one.
This is especially true of garage doors located in coastal towns in East Sussex.
We, at South East Garage Doors, have seen many sad examples just like this one when we have carried out garage door installation and repairs in Peacehaven, Seaford, Rottingdean, etc.
The heady mix of salty air, rain and wind causes garage doors to rust in no time.
But there are alternatives and they are not as expensive as people tend to think are.
We would advise people living in coastal towns to invest in either a plastic wrapped garage door or an uPVC garage door, which start at around £850 for a standard door and installation.
South East Garage Doors often use Cardale’s range of Plastisol doors. These are premium grade galvanised steel doors with a plastic wrap. They are both secure and corrosion resistant.
We also use Cardale ABS uPVC garage doors. These are more lightweight in construction but are reinforced with steel bracing, are impact and dent resistant with a low maintenance finish that matches up with uPVC windows and doors.
By using modern uPVC and plastic materials, rusty old garage doors really should be a thing of the past, even in coastal towns.
Working and living in the South East, we fully understand how damaging being located in a coastal town can be to garage doors, so please do not hesitate to call us for helpful and friendly advice.
