This block of flats were built close to Hastings seafront in 1968. For the next 58 years, the garage doors under the flats served their residents well, but they became increasingly difficult to use in the last 10 years of their life. Indeed, if they were human, they would have been moved into a retirement home!
Some of the doors did not open at all. Others had all but disintegrated due to the salt air (see Sun, sea and salt article here). The residents knew they needed new garage doors.
The managing agent put out a tender for a company to work with the committee to supply and fit garage doors that would last for the next 50 years. South East Garage Doors were part of this process. There were several site meetings with various committee members and the managing agent. I answered all of their questions in full, as well as providing practical examples of locks, frames, finish, etc., plus references from other similar type of work carried out.
We secured the contract and we completed the job this month within a working week. We removed and disposed of the existing garage doors and frames then supplied and fitted nice new Garador Carlton retractable garage doors.
It was a challenging week as all the garage doors belonged to different people and each garage had two owners! You can see this by the numbers we provided that are now stuck to the new garage doors!
However, South East Garage Doors rose to the challenge and the end result speaks for itself.
