Not all garages are attached or located near a home. This one was built in Polegate which was in a different town to where the owner lived and housed the owner’s classic car, so security was paramount when choosing a garage door.
Modern garage doors offer superior security to those of yesteryear with many achieving the Secured by Design (SBD) standard approved by the Police.
For this project, we advised our customer to use a Garador Guardian garage door, which boasts the following:
- Secure four-point locking preventing unauthorised entry
- Zinc-coated torsion spring for durability and a clean, finished look
- Cast alloy cable drum
- Anti-drop device to prevent the door from crashing down in the event of a spring or cable failure
It also features:
Steel frame as standard
All SBD doors come supplied with a galvanised steel frame as standard, which is quick and easy to fit and provides added structural strength and stability to the door and the opening.
Lock body protection and anti-snap cylinder
A reinforcing plate has been added to the lock body to prevent attacks against the locking mechanism.
High security bracing
There are now at least eight door braces rather than two at the back of the door for extra protection.
Improved lock security
Additional steel plates have been added to the base corners of the door to protect the bottom locking system.
