We do a lot of work for our older generation for people who find using their garage space difficult. This one was no exception.
I met with a recently widowed lady and her daughter to discuss what could be done to make access to the garage easier. It housed both the freezer and the wheelie bins, which needed accessing regularly.
I came up with the idea of not just replacing the garage door with a new one, but installing a door and window instead. As you can see from the three photos, the project came together very well.
The existing sliding doors, which were very rusty and were difficult to open, were replaced with a new uPVC door and window with lots of maintenance-free rosewood-effect cladding.
Mother and daughter were over the moon. The latter was kind enough to leave a 10 out of 10 review on Checkatrade that read: “Highly recommended by a neighbour and rightly so! Very aware of and sensitive to my elderly mother’s needs. A pleasure to deal with.”
