This customer wanted to turn their carport into a secure and insulated gym for his clients.
The challenge with carports is the attractive timberwork that are part and parcel of their structure. You want to retain the timberwork, but it can prove problematic!
To overcome this issue, we fitted an M-ribbed, black woodgrain finish, sectional garage door from Hörmann.
The main benefit of a sectional door is that they rise vertically and retract on tracks mounted on the ceiling. The door simply sits behind the lovely timberwork.
Sectional doors are also extremely secure with a rubber seal all the way round to help keep our customer’s gym equipment dry and safe.
You will notice the right-hand door has a lock in the center at eye height. This is an emergency release system as both the doors are electric. This feature is essential when considering garage doors for a carport conversion.
Both doors had a supramatic E automation upgrade for faster opening. They can be conveniently opened via a phone app using Bluetooth connectivity.
