Most garages contain cars, tools, garden furniture, etc….these also hosted a dog!
And because it housed these homeowners’ canine friend, they wanted to give it some natural light.
But that wasn’t their only requirement….
Living in a house in Eastbourne’s harbour where the weather is often windy and cold, their existing garage doors had suffered the ill effects of living so close to the sea and was affecting the temperature of their living accommodation above their garages too.
South East Garage Doors replaced their existing twin garage doors with two SWS SecueroGlide roller doors and replaced all the surrounding timber work, as this had rotted in the sea air, with white uPVC fascias to match the style of the garage doors.
Manufactured from tough twin-walled aluminium slats with an insulating core, the roller door curtain is held in place with high performance webbing which is extremely quiet during operation and is unaffected by extreme temperatures. A strong extruded top slat and locking mechanism effectively resists attack from would-be intruders too.
These roller doors included four rows of double-glazed vision slats too to allow natural light to permeate into the garages.
Both doors are electrically operated for ease of use but we also installed a low-level external override kit which enables the door to be opened manually in emergencies from both the inside and outside of the garage.
These new doors answered the need natural light needs of their pet but also insulated the space under their living accommodation to keep them warmer and to cut heating bills.
