When a garage door opening is not quite big enough
South East Garage Doors carries out all sorts of modifications to garages and for this project, the customer wanted to improve their drive through the standard 7ft wide canopy door opening.
After a site visit to discuss the garage door options and necessary building work, we sent them a detailed quote for the work. The job was soon agreed and five weeks later Woody and I arrived to carry out the work.
This involved propping up the existing roof structure and removing the existing timber garage door frame. This frame was responsible for holding up part of the roof.
The next step was to carefully disc cut away 400mm of brick work. We then installed a double timber lintel.
SWS SeceuroGilde roller door
Finally, we were able to install the SWS SeceuroGilde LT roller door in anthracite. This sits behind the new opening and rises vertically rather than opening outwards.
The finishing off included concrete work to the ground and fitting a Weather Stop rubber strip to the floor for improved weathering.
We now have a very happy customer. Please see before and after photos below. We left the work ready for our customer’s renderer to finish off the job.
