This is a question I get asked every day when visiting customers to do quotes for new garage door.
Modern-day cars are so big now that getting them in and out of our garages is becoming almost impossible.
For this project, we had the opportunity to adjust the opening. This is not always possible because of how the garages are built. In this case though, we were able to disc cut six inches of brickwork off each side.
This meant the drive-through width went from 7ft (2,125mm) to 8ft (2,440mm). If you look at the after picture, you can see the freshly concreted floor where the brickwork used to be.
We finished the brickwork off with white uPVC flat board trims to make it look extra smart. These matched the new Hörmann sectional garage door.
If you are struggling to get your car into your garage, please do not hesitate to contact me and we will see what we can do to help you.
