Wider doors were the top priority for this funeral parlour in Chailey near Lewes, East Sussex.
The openings were not really wide enough to allow their hearse and limousine to comfortably fit through. The other issue was that the garages were built on a slope so the existing doors had sections added onto the bottom of both doors to accommodate the gradient. This did not really give them the security and insulation they needed.
South East Garage Doors set to work and took out the central brick pillar and replaced it was a steel post. This was strong enough to support the brickwork and roof above while opening up more space for the installation of wider garage doors.
We solved the problems created by the slope but cutting into the ground and using automated sectional garage doors, with rubber seals at the bottom, to ensure the door could fit properly.
The job took three days to complete including the fitting of uPVC fascias around the doors and steel post to match the company’s colour scheme.
The funeral parlour now benefits from the security and insulation provided by these Hörmann sectional garage doors and can fit their vehicles into their garage with ease.
