Converting our own garage door!
Thought about convert the garage into a home office? Before this garage door conversion, we had fitted a Garador Wentwood in rosewood back in 2012 for this customer in Peacehaven. We were then called back as the family circumstances had changed and the garage was no longer needed to store gardening equipment and countless boxes…they needed to convert the garage into a home office!
The request was for something that kept the wind and rain out, which is very common on the south coast, as well as providing a warm space to work in. The last piece of the jigsaw was that it had to be in a rosewood colour.
Garage door conversion process
We removed and disposed of the old garage door for recycling. We then installed a treated timber stud frame ready for a new uPVC door in rosewood. It also had the vertical cottage panel fitted in it to match the vertical cladding we also fitted.
The usual waterproof breathable membrane was fitted to the outside and then the uPVC cladding was fitted and silicone sealed. The inside was filled with wool insulation before a marine ply was fitted to finish the job.
As you can see from the photos, we have ticked all our customer’s requests and the result looks stunning.
