Barn Doors- This garage used to be accessed via old, side-sliding, barn doors that no longer moved at all as they had rusted into the runners.
We were called in to replace them with Hörmann sectional doors with a wicket door.
In the sequence of photos above, you can see process in full as we carefully removed the old doors and disposed of them from site. We built a timber stud head area to reduce the 3m tall opening and then fitted the new door.
The new door has a wicket door, which means the garage door does not need to be opened, for easy pedestrian access. Please see our previous article on wicket doors here: https://southeastgaragedoors.co.uk/a-door-within-a-door/
We then trimmed the head area in with black hollow soffit uPVC. The garage door is M-ribbed in night oak decograin.
